The 430 Cockpit MY is basically a Carver 390 MY (1987–95) with a stretched hull. The extra length of the cockpit gave the 430 a much-improved profile over the 390’s stocky motor yacht appearance, and the extra hull length added a knot or two in speed. Carver packed a lot of living space into the interior of the 430 with double berths in both staterooms, a full dinette, a roomy salon area, and stall showers in both heads. A sliding door in the master stateroom leads directly out to the cockpit—a practical and extremely useful convenience. The foredeck can be fitted with sun pads, and wide side decks make getting around the deckhouse easy and safe. A transom door and swim platform were standard, and there’s enough room in the cockpit for some diving gear or even a wet bike. Her Twin Cummins 6BTA 5.9 M2/300 HP (1790 Hours) diesels are fully operational and in good condition and  cruise in the neighborhood of 21 knots and reach a top speed of 24–25 knots.
